Brampton Minor Lacrosse Association Annual Awards

The Brampton Minor Lacrosse Association has the distinct honour of awarding our members at the end of each season the following awards:

  • BMLA President's Award: Presented annually to the member who contributes unselfishly to the development of Minor Lacrosse in Brampton
  • Revis Bennett Memorial Award for Excellence in Coaching: Presented since 1999 in memory of Revis Bennett, to the lacrosse coach or staff who best instills the fundamental values of sportsmanship, hard work, integrity and self worth in their players as they strive for excellence, and who works together as a staff to develop individual lacrosse skills and team strategies appropriate to the level. These were the principles Revis followed during his coaching career.
  • BMLA Citizenship Award: Presented annually to the member(s) who demonstrates high academic achievement, good citizenship and commitment to the development of young lacrosse players.
  • Harry Benham Memorial Award for Excellence in Officiating: Presented annually to the referee or umpire who demonstrates excellence in their contribution to the sport of lacrosse in Brampton, through officiating, dedication to our game and the development of the principles of fair play and sportsmanship.
  • Brampton Lacrosse Alliance Award of Merit: Presented annually to an Excelsior who demonstrates excellence in their contribution to the development of young lacrosse players in Brampton.
  • Brampton Minor Lacrosse Veteran's Award: Presented to graduating Minor Excelsiors who have played for a period of more than 11 years in Brampton, and either graduated to Intermediate or moved on to play Junior.
  • George "Potsy" Burrows Memorial Goaltending Award: Presented annually to a Box Goalie and a Field Goalie who demonstrates Courage, Dedication, Competitiveness, Leadership and Focus.
  • Brampton Minor Lacrosse Irene McCauley Award: The Irene McCauley Memorial Awards represents Faith, Courage, Strength, Perseverance, Dedication, Athleticism and Compassion.
  • The Cameron Crichton Memorial Trophy: Presented annually to the BMLA House League player (s) who, like Cameron, displays self-discipline, devotion and team play along with respect for the game and all involved. 
  • Bram Wilfong Memorial Award for Outstanding Box Player:
  • Reg Ewles Award for Outstanding Boys Field Player:
