Team lead on defense by Brampton's own Kyle Rubisch

Kyle played a very important role on the Team Canada back end. Clearing the front and playing the elite offensive players tough...each and every game.

Congrats to Kyle on his World Championship. Below is a little history of Kyle's Brampton Lacrosse History.

Kyle began playing lacrosse with the BMLA at the house league level at the age of 7. After that he would play at the rep levels every season for the BMLA for both box and field lacrosse teams at the rep competitive provincial team level. A highlight of his minor career was winning the Ontario bantam A field lacrosse provincial championship. He would often reach out to other minor teams offering help at practices to share skills he had learned throughout his years from various BMLA coaches. He would continue with the BMLA by representing Brampton's under 19 field lacrosse team before continuing on to play Jr A box for Brampton. He playing 4 years for Brampton and shared great success with his teammates including hosting and coming one game away from hoisting a Minto cup in 2009. He was honoured to be the recipient of the John Macaulay award, an award named in honour of a leader and legend in Brampton lacrosse. He would then graduate from Jr A to play for the Excelsior Majors where he was part of the 2011 Mann Cup championship team, one of the greatest moments of his lacrosse career. Kyle attributes everything he has learned and accomplished in his lacrosse career to the BMLA and Brampton lacrosse and has been honoured to dawn the Excelsior jersey from the beginning of his journey in lacrosse.
